The assault resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals injured by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
